Before you ask.
Short, direct answers to what we get asked most. If one is missing, write to us — we answer everything, even the hard ones.
When does it open?
We are opening zone by zone, starting in Lisbon. Save your spot with your email and we will tell you when we reach your area — first to save, first in.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Tailmeet is free, with no ads and no data selling. There are no hidden purchases in the app: what you see on the landing page is what you get.
How do matches work?
You create your dog’s profile and the app shows you dogs from your area, one at a time, filtered by distance, age, size and temperament. You like or you pass. There is only a match when both sides like — and that is when the chat opens.
What is a Tailmeet?
An open walk: an owner sets a place and a time on the map, decides how many dogs fit, and anyone nearby can join with one tap. You see how many are going before you decide, and there is a chat just for those signed up. No match needed.
Does the app always know where I am?
No. Location is only read while you have the app open, to sort dogs by distance and show the map. Never in the background. Other owners see your city and the approximate distance — never the address or the exact position. It is all in the Privacy Policy.
What if someone behaves badly?
You block and report without leaving the chat. Blocking is immediate: you stop seeing each other in discovery, on the map and in chat. The report is filed and reviewed by us; accounts that break the rules are suspended or removed.
How do I delete my account?
Inside the app: Settings → Delete account, with confirmation. It deletes the profile, the photos, the matches and the chats — no emails to request it, no hidden deadlines.
iOS or Android?
Both, from day one. Anyone with a saved spot gets the link for each store by email at launch.
There is no Tailmeet in my area yet. Now what?
Save a spot anyway. The order in which zones open is decided by demand on the waiting list — the more of your neighbours save a spot, the sooner we get there.
My dog is shy or reactive. Is this for him?
It is, maybe even more so. Temperament is part of the profile and of the filters, walks are arranged calmly in the chat, and Tailmeets have a limit so they do not turn into a crowd. Nobody shows up by surprise.
